News from the Web
You would need to be blind not to see the uptick in crime this past year. In my city, there are car jackings when you stop to fill up with gas. Tomorrow when I open the paper, I will be able to read about anywhere between two and 12 people shot over the weekend. On Friday listening to a local radio show a man called and talked about being robed in a graveyard after burring a loved one. Can those perpetrators ever be rehabilitated?
There is a riff right now in New Orleans between a recently elected D.A. and the N.O.P.D. This is not only happening in New Orleans, but also throughout the country. Progressive District Attorneys whose campaigns are funded by money coming from outside of their districts.
Progressivism sounds like a way of making everything modern. Truth be told, what progressivism does is take away one’s individual sovereignty for the common good. What is the “common good”? The common good comes from ideas developed by the intelligentsia. Ideas not proven with experience, just ideas.
I am not sure about you, but, I have always felt there was no one more in tuned to my needs than me. Make no mistake about it now, we are in a war. It is not a black and white war, it is a war waged on us from the “governmental overlords”, the “intelligentsia”, and the “wannabes” against the rest of us.
The following quote is imbedded in a linked piece by Katie Herzog in Substack. “I always thought that if you lived through a revolution, it would be obvious to everyone. As it turns out, that’s not true. Revolutions can be bloodless, incremental, and subtle. And they don’t require a strongman. They just require a sufficient number of well-positioned true believers and cowards, like those sitting in the C-suite of nearly every major institution in American life.” Think about that, it is profound.

The reason I first decided to this is because I always thought we as Americans had more in common with each other than is portrayed. As some whose politics and beliefs were of a libertarian red, my views since starting have shifted to more of a purple. Just as some on the liberal blue have shifted right to purple. Together we as I believe most Americans believe in the Liberal Democracy our founding fathers wanted for us.

A Government that Continues to Lie
I have always and will always contend there are things for National Security must be kept close to the vest. Those are few and far in between. But our government is out of control, and we continue to allow it.

The Intelligentsia
Like many until recently I have always respected certain institutions of higher learning. As we have learned from the Varsity Blues scandal and seen with Bush 45 and Al Gore it is not always our brightest and best who attend. I have a younger brother who received a double masters from Yale. In the yearly Harvard and Yale game on game day I would always wear my Yale t-shirt as it really mattered. Well, never again, that t-shirt was burned yesterday. The two attached articles will tell you all you really need to know.
