Like many this time of year I have made resolutions. One of the resolutions made was to submit to publish my thoughts once a week commenting on news and other events from around the world affecting us.

When I first started Purple Sky, it was aimed at showing, we as citizens of this great country were not as divided as what we are being led to believe. It is something to this day I still believe. While there is division, it is between the ruling elite and everyone else. Their lust for power and gold knows no bounds. They know the only way to maintain their place is through division.

While many in the Democratic Party assume the Global Progressive mantle, many in the Republican Party are just as guilty of drinking this hemlock. We cannot maintain our liberal Democratic Republic by taking away our basic individual rights which is at the core of the progressive ideology.

Does anyone really know what the Republican Party stands for today? Hell, I don’t. Or, for that that matter what Democratic Party stands for. The reality of it is both parties is they want power for themselves and their big business handlers at your expense. Which are your individual rights.

To truly understand what a progressive is, you must go back to Woodrow Wilson in modern times. To paraphrase what he wanted, was to allow experts in their field to make decisions and policy for you to live your life by. These intellectuals or should I say pseudo intellectuals that prescribe policy designed for an abstract world filled with abstract people. These are the people who look down at everyday Americans telling you that the “mundane” knowledge that you have collected through a lifetime of hardships and experience is all a lie. They want you to believe in Rainbows and Unicorns and fuck the realities of human nature that has not changed for thousands of years. Didn’t Freud say to continue doing the same thing over and over with same the unsatisfactory results are the definition of insanity? Yet it is what we allow to be done. Failed policy after policy and we let them do it.

Hooterville is Washington D.C.

The other night while battling insomnia which was brought on by either; a) I ran out of Scotch or b) the adverse side effects of my Covid vaccination, I came across the TV show Green Acres.  As I watched the show all I could think of was how the characters resembled our government. The fact that Uncle Joe from Petticoat Junction was making a guest appearance really cemented it. If you don’t believe me, check out the cast.

Uncle Joe who is moving kinda slow- President Biden

Oliver Douglas – Mitch McConnell

Eb- Mitt Romney

Fred Zipfel- Chuck Schumer

Doris Zipfel- Nancy Pelosi

Arnold Zipfel- Gerry Nadler (This is one I cannot believe President Trump did not use)

Lisa Douglas- Hillary Clinton (Hillary doesn’t or cannot bake cookies. We know Lisa cannot make pancakes.)

Ralph- AOC

Alf- Adam Schiff

Mr. Haney- Hunter Bidens art dealer.

Sam Drucker- Government bureaucrat

Pretty scary, isn’t it? However, any sane person would be hard pressed to prove otherwise. What’s even more frightening Green Acres had good ratings and was canceled. Our governmental overlords’ ratings are in the toilet, yet they survive.

The most magical word most of us use.

My mother would always say, “someone who uses curse words shows their lack of vocabulary.”  Well in my case my mom was right to a certain degree. My vocabulary is limited. However, I mainly use one word that is considered a curse word. But, I often wonder if it should be reclassified like so many other words have been as society evolves.

This is a word that started off as a verb but, is used mostly as an adjective in so many different phrases. Hell, 99.998% of the time it is used, it is as an adjective. This is a word that saves time when you use it. It gets to the heart of how you really feel.

At a time when we are all divided on so many things coming together to change the connotation of the meaning of this may be the catalyst, we need to bring us together. Whether you us the word by itself or add “ing” or “er” you must admit the word “fuck” or one of its versions is more magical than Unicorns and Rainbows.

Come on, if the British can change the meaning of “fag” from a cigarette to a slur against homosexuals, why can’t we change the acceptance of the meaning of the word “fuck”? If we were to do this, it would make everyone’s life a lot easier. I know it would for me.

In the Future

If I can fight through my bouts with self-diagnosed ADHD or procrastination, I want to share my four favorite things, conversation, cocktails, cooking and cigars on a regular basis. I am going to do my best to find my inner Art Buchwald or P.J. O’Rourke and make it fun even if you don’t agree..

Like most I draw conclusions via deductions based on what I read and have experienced. So basically, I am giving my opinion. As opinions go, well you know what they say, everyone has one just like… and they all stink. Contrary to what many claim, our government is not better than many consider third world countries. The people we elect to govern us are rife with hypocrisy and corruption. This by itself invalidates Sarah Palins claim that you cannot put lipstick on a pig. We have and it doesn’t look attractive. But then again, we are led by the people of Hooterville! Fuck em!
