The Judge

Filler: Nicaraguan

Binder: Corojo

With my enjoyment of good cigars already documented, I have decided to include two cigars for the first month. We are going to use a “light wrapper” cigar and a “dark wrapper” cigar.
About three years ago was when I was first introduced to the My Father family of cigars. Because of the taste, aroma, and just overall quality it has become one of if favorite cigar brands.
Born into a large family of Tabaco growers/ cigar makers in Baez, Cuba, Don Jose Pepin Garcia began his life the cigar business at the age of 11 as a roller in a local factory. Mr. Garcia stayed in the cigar in Cuba until he immigrated to Nicaragua in 2001.
Following a short stay in Nicaragua, Mr. Garcia immigrated to Miami where he started El Rey de los Habanos in 2002. His first brand known as Tatuaje received high ratings in Cigar Aficionado, the demand for Don Pepin cigars outgrew that small Miami factory, a 7acre plot was purchased in Nicaragua.

After a blend for him from his son Jamie, Mr. Garcia changed to overall company band name to My Father Cigars. Not only does El Rey de los Habanos produce cigars for My Father, they also produce cigars for client brands.
With two of Mr. Gacia’s children working for the company, son Jamie and daughter Janny, we know we will have quality My Father cigars for a long time.
On a personal level, I generally prefer dark wrapper cigars in the evening and the lighter ones earlier in the day.

My Father Connecticut

This cigar is an extension of the already existing line of My Father and My Father Le Bijou.

Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut

Filler: Nicaragua Habano-Criollo

Binder: Nicaraguan Corojo 99

Both the Judge and Connecticut burned easily and evenly with slight draws. The Judge had a sweetness you could not only taste but smell in the pleasant aroma. The Connecticut had its own delicious distinctive flavor and aroma which I also enjoyed very much.
The next time you have a big celebration, or you just want that cocktail and unwind try a My Father. I know without a doubt, you will not be disappointed.

V- Cut your Cigar

While there are many ways to cut your cigar, I always find the V-Cut works the best for me. I always use the Colibri V-Cutter which you can find in the smoke shop along with long matches.
